Sarah A. SmithProgram Director, Indo-AsiaSarah Smith coordinates the foundation's activity and communication with partners/directors of projects in designated regions of Indo-Asia.
Sarah's interest in travel has taken her to Europe, Mongolia, China, and East Africa. In October, 2008 she spent three weeks in North, Central, and South India representing Hope for Change, Inc. on its inaugural "Project Evaluation Trip" to the sub-continent. She and her fellow-traveler, Jacinta Vondell, enjoyed the honor of being the first visitors from the Unites States to interact with administrators, staff, and recipients of education, medical services, and food distribution. The women returned with video footage of interviews and tours of facilities with the purpose of determining upcoming stages of assistance and development. Since 1985, Sarah has offered lodging in their upstate New York home on numerous occasions to visitors from the nations of Africa and Indo-Asia. Extending hospitality to these courageous advocates for change has afforded her the ability to listen to accounts of their struggles and their dreams of changing the destiny of their peoples.
