Sponsoships are provided to students who are motivated to attain an education but who are not given the opportunity to attend school due to a lack of funds. The inability to acquire basic reading and writing skills has robbed many of the opportunity to learn a trade or attend secondary school in an effort to improve their quality of life. Childern of illiterate adults are less likely to attend school and more likely to repeat the cylce of illiteracy. Hope For Change aims to break the cylce by providing literacy programs to adults needing basic, general, or specialized skills instruction. It is our goal to enable every adult learner with the necessary basic skills- reading, writing and arithmatic. AIDS has significantly changed the structure of families across the African continent: men and women of childbearing age are succumbing to the disease at an alarming rate, leaving their children and their elderly parents alone and vulnerable. Hope For Change provides parenting skills for remainig family and community members who become the primary caregivers of AIDS orphans. Hope For Change is dedicated to meeting the ongoing emotional, educational and social needs of orphans by sponsoring families that open their hearts and their homes to orphans in need. Our homes for orphans program provides clean, safe residences and a structured, family-like environment. Each sponsorship includes the necessary tuition to enroll each orphan into elementary or secondary school. |
